The most often overlooked, even neglected, system on most off-road trucks is the fuel system. Any racer or enthusiast who needs peace of mind that they won’t be left stranded in the desert runs redundant systems: redundant ignition systems and redundant fuel systems. This requires two ignition systems and used to require plumbing two fuel systems. That is, until now. The Dominator fuel pumps are compact and will fit most vehicles. They measure only 11 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 3 inches tall. The 1400 weighs only 3.5 pounds and the 1800 is 5.5 pounds. The Dominator fuel pumps are compact and will fit most vehicles. They measure only 11 inch Holley has brought together many years of drag-race technology to build a fuel pump that is perfect for the off-road world. The Dominator 12-1400 and 12-1800 fuel pumps combine two Dominator fuel pumps into one billet-aluminum housing. These Dominator fuel pumps have a single -10AN inlet and outlet and are plumbed as you would any single-pump fuel system. This means that running this pump will require little, if any, modification to your existing fuel system. The magic happens in how the pumps are wired. The two inner pump motors have separate wiring, allowing them to be either run together to support extremely high horsepower or separately on two different switches. If one pump fails you can activate the second pump and continue on with the trail or race. With both pump motors running, the Dominator 12-1800 can flow enough fuel to support up to 2,100 hp flowing 190 gallons per hour (gph) at 8 psi, or 140 gph at 60 psi for the fuel-injected crowd. With only one pump activated the Dominator 12-1800 will flow 95 gph at 8 psi or 70 gph at 60 psi, which is more than enough fuel to keep your 600hp big-block humming across the desert. Both of the Dominator fuel pumps are equipped to flow either gasoline or diesel fuel. A single inlet and outlet mean less complexity while plumbing and significantly less money spent on braided steel hose and AN fittings. The pump is equipped with female -10AN ports that can be adapted down to -8AN to match common fuel fittings.A single inlet and outlet mean less complexity while plumbing and significantly less money Two power and two ground wires exit the billet aluminum fuel pump housing. This means that each pump can be wired to its own individual circuit, maximizing redundancy and minimizing the risk of a single electrical issue taking both pumps out of service. Two power and two ground wires exit the billet aluminum fuel pump housing.
