Badlands 12000 Pound Winch Best Deal In Winching Badland Winch Overview

Need a winch for your truck but don’t have $1,000-plus to spend on one? Well, Harbor Freight has got your back.

For less than you might spend on a single tire for your big ride, you could have yourself a Badlands winch. And, no this isn’t some special that’s only available for a week after you read this; that’s just Harbor Freight’s price on their new line of Badlands winches.

We’ve haven’t put too many pulls on ours yet, but we’ve definitely gotten it into action a few times, with positive results. The line speed isn’t slow, and the quality and appearance of the winch seems top notch. We’ve tried some “lesser expensive” winches before, and we can tell you firsthand that this winch is in a league of its own. It competes with the high-end winches in performance, and the economically-priced winches in cost.

  • While it’s a clean setup, the solenoid box can present a fitment problem if your winch bumper doesn’t leave enough room to get the box on (top of the winch). It wasn’t compatible with our original recipient bumper, but we had no problem fitting it onto our Super Duty’s winch bumper. The winch uses a standard 10.0 x 4.5-inch mounting pattern and has 3.5-gauge power cables.
