Arb Dana 60 Air Locker Components

We were in the process of building a 40-spline, full-floating Dana 60 for our King of the Hammers Jeep when we found out that ARB had a new 40-spline Dana 60 ARB Air Locker. We had to have one if we wanted our Jeep to be driveable on the street after surviving the King of the Hammers. The ARB Air Locker would allow us to unlock the differential to make tight turns on narrow trails, which would be a headache if we ran a full spool.

The new 40-spline Air Locker is built with a steel-reinforced, elastomer bonded annular seal that’s designed to handle the most extreme temperatures on earth. We can honestly tell you that the new ARB 40-spline Dana 60 Air Locker did not let us down and performed flawlessly throughout the grueling race at the Hammers. (See our July 2011 issue for complete race details.) OR

  • The 40-spline ARB Dana 60 Air Locker operates on compressed air, so only the air compressor has any parasitic drain on your electrical system. The nice part about having a selectable air locker is that it puts significantly less wear and tear on your drivetrain and tires when it is not engaged — really making a difference when you’re running King of the Hammers!
