For the past two years, Twisted Stitch has been making quite an impact on the off-road world. Although a relative newcomer to the seating market, its quality and quick turnaround have made the company a solid choice when seating time arrives for your new project. We wanted to see for ourselves what goes into its seats and make sure it's not just a fancy wrapper stuffed with weak innards. We're trying some Twisted seats out ourselves in one of our trucks that gets beat hard, and we'll let you know how they hold up in the future.
 Walking into Twisted Stitch,...  Walking into Twisted Stitch, we quickly realized that not only are the seats all made in-house, but 95 percent of the materials used are made in the good old USA. All of their seats are hand-made and only leave the premises to visit powdercoating. |  Each seat is made from 3/4-inch...  Each seat is made from 3/4-inch 0.065 mild steel round tubing. All seats are bent using a computerized tube bender for repeated accuracy. The welder then places each frame into a fixture to be completed welded while locked into the fixture so the tube does not warp from heat.  More than 30 brass grommets... This is what gives the seat its "suspension". |  Multi-density foam is then...  Multi-density foam is then applied over the vinyl layer to give the seat its shape. Every seat has a different shape and customers can request higher density foam or memory foam as an option. |
 The final step in the process...  The final step in the process is adding the seat cover. Each cover is cut by hand from marine-grade vinyl, automotive tweed, synthetic suede or leather-per the customer's request. Both the tweed and vinyl covers are UV coated to last for years and resist fading. The pieces are then sewn together with a heavy-duty polyester thread.
