Are you looking to build your Nissan Titan truck into something that will make light work of tough desert terrain? Or , are you looking for something a bit more simple and just want your truck to look great rolling down the road on larger tires? Either way, PRG Products have just what you need. We recently spent some time with PRG talking about their Nissan Titan line of products and thought we should share them with you.
If you are familiar with southern California off-road racing then you have probably heard of Greg Gagnon. He and his wife Jen founded the Rialto Off-Road Raceway located in Rialto, California. This short course track turned into a weekend gateway for many local prerunners and racetrucks looking to have some safe high speed fun. His wealth of knowledge building countless trucks, fine tuning friends race truck suspension systems and time behind the wheel have lead to the creation of PRG Products. We asked Greg to tell us a little bit about his experiences with the Titan and what type of suspension systems he offers.
Greg tells us," Considering the design and location of the upper control arm on the Nissan Titan, lifting the truck more than a couple of inches can be a precarious process. The Titan also comes from the factory with a good amount of rake (front sitting lower than the rear), which creates an immediate need for most owners to at minimum level the suspension.

The easiest way to lift the front of the truck is using a leveling kit. Our leveling kit uses billet spacers that essentially lengthen the factory strut assembly and provide a small amount of lift. These are very easy to install and never sag or wear-out. But because of the upper a-arm interference, there are very strict limits on the amount of lift that can be gained with a simple leveling kit. 2.5-inches is the maximum lift allowed for '04-'07 2wd Titan's, 2-inches maximum for '04-'07 4wd Titan's and 1.5-inches maximum for '08 model 2wd and 4wd Titan's. These lifts are purely cosmetic as they retain the factory shock/spring combination. Many people ad a small rear block to gain a small lift at each corner, often called a "mini-lift", which we also offer.
The next step in performance and to gain more lift is to add a race-style coilover and a set of our upper control arms (UCA's). A 2.5-inch diameter coilover offers nearly 3 times the potential damping over a stock shock and a much better spring to counter brake dive and sway, which is very common on Titan's. The new UCA is needed to clear the coil bucket and allows additional extension or down-travel. Combined with our coilovers the travel increase is about 25% and the lift can be adjusted up to 4-inches over stock. To compliment this front suspension we offer a small billet rear lift block, a new set of leaf springs and a monotube shock. All of these are optional upgrades | If you want more performance out of your truck then our long travel kit is what you should consider. It uses longer upper and lower a-arms (as well as longer tie rods, brake lines and axle shafts). This kit is a complete bolt-on suspension system that is 3-inches wider per side and will yield about 5-inches of lift and 45% increase in wheel travel over stock. As an option you can add a weld-on shock hoop and a longer coilover which produces travel gains up to 90% more than stock (about 14-inches). In the rear we offer a completely new leaf spring pack and remote reservoir shocks."
