KC HILITES offers a wide variety of bolt-on lightbars for just about every make and model of truck out there. Our daily driver/tow rig is an '07 Ford F-150 FX4, and the bar that KC offers for this truck is a very stylish streamlined design capable of holding up to four of KC's 8-inch lights. This lightbar is one of the more appealing ones we've seen for the '04-and-later F-150. It's also one of the simplest to install. The bar bolts up to existing holes on the truck and, if you have a buddy to help you, takes all of about 15 minutes to install from the time you open the box.
To complement the bar, we went with a set of KC Rally 800 lights of the 130-watt halogen variety. The Rally 800s are offered as HIDs, but being that they were going on our daily driver and not our prerunner, the halogens will provide more than enough light to find camp and will leave a little more green in our pockets. For now, we decided to go with only two lights, as they should be more than sufficient for our needs. Should we ever decide we want more (which I'm sure we will - who doesn't want more light?), we have room to add two more Rally 800s to the bar. Using the harness that KC provides with every set of lights makes wiring up the lights a breeze; the hardest part was deciding where to place the switch.
Overall, we are very pleased with how it turned out. The completed bar complements the stock look of our tow rig really well, and the lights are an awesome addition. Finding camp has never been so easy!

The Rally 800 lights came with everything needed to install them, including a full wiring harness, switch, and chrome-colored stoneguards. We're not really into chrome, so we ordered up a set of black stoneguards for the lights instead. |  Finding a place to mount the...  Finding a place to mount the switch that was both out of the way and easy to reach was a challenge, and oddly enough, the most challenging part of the whole install. In the end, we settled with placing it near the parking-brake release. |
