2006 Dodge Ram - Silver Standard Ram - Technical
Our new KORE control arms... Our new KORE control arms are a big improvement over the wimpy stock units. The KORE arms are TIG-welded, 0.120-wall, rectangular steel with large rubber bushings in front and spherical bearings in the rear. They afford extreme strength with light weight and are owner-serviceable. | Nate Williams at Mount Logan... Nate Williams at Mount Logan Off-Road began unbolting the stock arms from our Ram. | The KORE arms install with... The KORE arms install with no modification, using stock OE hardware. This upper arm on the driver side needed some persuading to slide into the bracket. Actually, we "persuaded" the bracket to accept the arm by spreading it a bit. In other words, for the sarcastically challenged, the bracket was really tight. | The KORE Chase Series digressive... The KORE Chase Series digressive tubular antisway bar features billet brackets, Teflon-lined spherical bearing end links, polyurethane bushings, and stainless and zinc-plated hardware. KORE included billet drop blocks that usually aren't included with the Chase Series antisway bar. | Here are the KORE control... Here are the KORE control arms installed. | Here's the KORE antisway bar... Here's the KORE antisway bar installed. We used the billet drop blocks here, but once the truck was on the ground we found antisway bar geometry was better if they were removed for our stock-height application. | Our Silver Standard Ram has... Our Silver Standard Ram has now received the complete KORE treatment. Two-inch KORE/Fox reservoir shocks, control arms, and the Chase Series antisway bar have improved our on- and off-road performance tremendously! | Andersen Manufacturing's Alumistinger... Andersen Manufacturing's Alumistinger is a solid billet of aluminum alloy with no welds, giving it an 8,000-pound GTWR and 800-pound tongue weight capacity. The Alumistinger is available in 2-, 4-, 6-, 8-, or 10-inch drop configurations. | The Alumiball has an aluminum... The Alumiball has an aluminum core that will never rust and a nylon composite cap that eliminates the need for any lubrication. | | Andersen Manufacturing's Rapid... Andersen Manufacturing's Rapid Hitch is the perfect hitch for anyone who tows multiple trailers like us. We can flip the double ball over, change the drop to a rise, or adjust the height of the drop by simply removing the hitch pin and putting it back in place. It's V5-rated up to 10,000 pounds of trailer weight and 1,500 pounds of tongue weight (limited by ball capacity). The Rapid Hitch comes in three drop/rise sizes: 3-3/4, 5-3/4, and 10 inches, the size we chose, which can be adjusted from 4 inches to a full 10 inches of drop/rise. We also chose a 2-inch and 2-5/16-inch ball combo so we can easily tow any trailer we come across. | We mounted LT35x12.50R17E... We mounted LT35x12.50R17E Toyo Open Country M/T tires on our stock Dodge alloy wheels. The Toyos work in a wide range of conditions from dry pavement and dirt to snow and light mud. They're also an "E"-load-range tire, meaning they can handle heavy loads if necessary. We probably don't actually need the "E" rating, but it's nice to have. These tires took very little weight to balance. |
