The pristine bed of our Silver Standard Ram is ready for its new Bedrug bedliner.

Andy, owner of St. George Toppers located in St. George, Utah, installed the Bedrug. Note that he put the included tape strips on the closed-cell foam backing of the Bedrug before it went in.

The Bedrug is really a plastic bedliner that looks and feels like carpet. The closed-cell foam backing bonded to the plastic fiber surface won't absorb liquids, keeping them on the surface where they can be easily washed away just like on a hard plastic bedliner and preventing stains. The plastic foam backing is heat- and pressure-molded for each truck model, conforming exactly to the contours of the bed. This affords a tough, flat, knee-friendly, nonskid surface that cushions fragile cargo and is also a great place to throw a sleeping bag during camping excursions. All the factory tie-downs and two-tier loading features are retained.

The crew at Mountain Toppers in Smithfield, Utah, had our A.R.E. Z-Series cap installed in no time. The Z-Series is a very strong, well-built cap that features soft, rounded lines that match the truck's. The rear door on the Z-Series is curved to match the styling of the cap and give the truck an SUV look.

The third brake light is recessed into the fiberglass and curved to match the cap's styling. The "slam action" latch on the rear door doesn't need to be slammed. A gentle push is all that's required to securely lock the door. A double-sided key fits the OE-quality lock.

We added a few options to our Z-Series. A tilt-down front window makes cleaning the glass easy.

The battery-operated interior light illuminates the interior after dark.

The clothing-hanger rod folds up when not in use but gives us a convenient place to hang things when needed.

The Yakima Control Tower rack has a number of accessories so we can carry bikes, a kayak, a storage pod, and so on, into the backcountry.
