Looking for a little help. I have a '70 Blazer and am looking to replace the OEM 3 spd auto w/ a 4 or 5 spd auto. Does anyone have suggestions on where to look or what might fit? I was looking at the 4L60 that they used in the late '80s models and am hoping that will work. Or I might just add an o/d. I've heard of bolt on applications like that. Any advice?

Southern Monster Truck Showdown will be hosting a "Tuff Truck" contest at its upcoming show in Forest, Mississippi on November 14 & 15, 2008. This event is held at the Scott County Coliseum, located just off Interstate 20 about halfway between Jackson and Meridian. The contest is open to any vehicle under 1 ton and ABLE to be registered (active reg. not required), so the name Tuff TRUCK may be a little misleading, if you want to run the wife's Pinto, bring it on!! :shocked: Rules are pretty simple, DOT helmet, fully functioning seatbelts, battery tied down and so on. We're big on safety, the area we won't bend on, so no foolishness in the pits and we'll get along pretty well. Entry fee is $25 per racer (vehicle may have multiple drivers, each competitor must pay entry fee). The purse will consist of 100% of the entry fees, plus $500 added by the promoter each night. 1st through 3rd will finish in the money, paying 50-30-20% of the total purse, respectively. IMPORTANT NOTE: We can only accept up to 20 racers per night, so pre-registration is HIGHLY recommended. To pre-register, simply send us your name, hometown, date of birth, vehicle description, and which date(s) you want to run by email to smts4info@yahoo.com. Entry fees and paperwork will be handled at the pit entrance on show date. If you have any questions, send them via email as well. Hello I run a 4x4 club in the UK - www.L200.org.uk We are trying to organise a trip to the West coast of America to combine sightseeing with some wheeling - routes like the Mojave road and others from the 'Backcountry Adventures' books. We are struggling to find a company to hire 4x4 vehicles from - looking to hire 2 and 4 door Jeeps (or possibly pick-up trucks). We would like to pick up the vehicles in either San Francisco, Las Vegas or LA. Can anyone assist and/or make any suggestions about this trip ? Chris

ok well im in the same boat as badwolf. i have a new truck :D i just got an 05 supercab F150 FX4. but i know a littl bit more i think. im thinking about going atleast 37" tires but no bgger than 40". first what kinda milage can i expect with that. second how do you suggest i go about the lift. i was thinking a 6" fabtech with coil overs, then go with a 3" inch body lift. but could i get a fabtech coilover 8-9 inch lift? i much rather the lift be all suspension no body lift. along with the lift what do i do about the drive shaft and what are those bars that go from the rear axle to the frame to help keep it from binding. im trying to build a truck that can tackle anything pretty much but itll be my everyday driving truck. so i want as smooth of a ride i can get.

brazil imports no oil. why? ethanol. it can be made from so many different crops such as corn sugar beets sugar cane soy beans, etc. the us gov wont allow anyone to import ethanol from brazil. theres no good reason not to. citgo is venezuelen (idk how to spell) and the dictator of that country constantly voices his hatred from the US. the thing is we have oil in our country. wtf are we doing going over seas for everything. we should provide for ourselves and let the rest of the world do w.e they want. all most of the countries wanna do is mouth off how were the devil and they hate us. we have oil in alaska and texas. but tons in alaska. all we need to do is pump outa there and build a refinery there and we could be paying 50 cents a gallon. but no the oil companys want to make 600Billion off us. prices wont ever go down. the government is being payed off by any industry making huge profits i.e. banking, financial, oil to not interfere.

i'm posting this on several offroad magazine websites. So if you respond to another sites posting you need not respond here as well. I have been asked to approach you on behalf of The BackCountry Crawlers for information on procuring sponsors for and magazine coverage of our annual offroading event... I am one of nearly 40 members of the club located in Casper, Wyoming. We have hosted and organized the event with permission from the local branch of the BLM for the last two years at our local ORV park. Our first year drew 12 vehicles to the competition and some 50 spectators, while this year we had 34 vehicles competiting and well over 100 spectators and we expect many more next year... We have gained sponsorship for the event from several local vendors and businesses, but these businesses have little to do with the genre of offroading... my question to anyone who wishes to answer is how do we go about bringing in someone from the magazine to possibly do a small writeup on the event, and who would we contact with the larger sponsors in the offroading world... Any help would be greatly appreciated
