Krooked FJ Cruiser
The FJ Cruiser phenomenon has taken the off-road world by storm since the vehicle's release. Jimmy sent us these photos from his recent off-road adventure through the hills near his home in central Florida. His '07 Toyota FJ Cruiser has been pushed to its limits on several occasions, he tells us. So far he has installed an All-Pro front bumper, a Warn 9.5xp winch, All-Pro 3-inch suspension, a K&N intake system, and a few homemade protection modifications. He is also running a full set of Cooper STT tires on black steel wheels.
Jimmy and his friends are true off-road enthusiasts, and his plans for excursions over the next year include taking on the tough trails in Tellico and possibly a trip all the way out to Moab.
Overseas Mudder
Graham Simpson of Melbourne, Australia, sent us a few action shots of his '87 Suzuki Sierra vehicle. For those of you who haven't heard of a Suzuki Sierra, it's the older relative of the popular Suzuki Samurai vehicle. The SJ-series Suzuki vehicles began production in 1982 and were first sold in Japan as the Suzuki Jimmy, which was a keicar (a small type of automobile in Japan). As the SJ-series vehicles developed and began shipping overseas, they were produced with a wider and longer wheelbase, making them more popular in foreign countries as the Samurai, Sierra, Caribbean, and Santana models. Graham's ride is equipped with a 2.5-inch Old Man Emu suspension with Rancho RS9000 shocks both front and rear. He is running an ARB Air Locker in front and a Detroit Locker in the rear. To give it better clearance for a set of 34-inch Super Swamper tires, Graham also added a 2-inch body lift. A custom-made exocage was also fabricated to keep body damage down to a minimum. Unfortunately, Graham tells us that he has sold the vehicle and, as most of us can sympathize, regrets the sale. Keep your chin up, Graham!
