Toyota Trooper
"Hi, my name is Phil and this is my '81 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60. I'm a Colorado state trooper and this truck is my transportation to the scenic Colorado backcountry on my days off. The truck has been great for taking my wife, kids, and dog on lots of great Colorado adventures. Over the years, it has been beefed up a bit with a 2.5-inch OME lift, 33x10.50 BFGs, dual Optima RedTops, and a whole laundry list of other goodies.
"The truck is the perfect size for my needs. It still has the original 2F engine and is running strong with over 216,000 miles on the clock. I have to hand it to Toyota for knowing how to make a bulletproof drivetrain."
Phil, thanks for submitting your wonderful photos to OFF-ROAD and filling us in on the progress of your project. We enjoyed reading what you had to say and decided we couldn't say it better ourselves!

 Dodge Power Wagon Front View

This Old Truck
John Moak of Marksville, Louisiana, loves taking out his family's Dodge Power Wagon for eventful weekends in the mud. The truck was recently painted by the entire family, including his father Johnny and little brother Matt. The truck may only have a six-cylinder powerplant, but having eight tires sure does help it overcome obstacles with ease. The family plans on taking this mudslinger to a new level once the new motor arrives. You may just see this Dodge turning heads at the competition level soon.

 Chevy Silverado Side View

Ready and Willing
Around the 10,000-mile mark, Chad Lemmon decided it was time to modify his Chevy Silverado truck. He added a 6-inch Fabtech suspension system with double shock hoops to give him enough clearance to stuff 35-inch BFG M-T tires underneath. From there, the modification bug hit him hard and the list includes a Fabtech desert guard, Goodmark hood, SLP exhaust, K&N cold-air intake system, Hypertech programmer, and a Powerdyne throttle-body spacer.
This truck is Chad's daily driver when his wife Bethany is not trying to steal the keys away. He made sure to let us know how much he enjoys OFF-ROAD and that seeing his truck in its pages would make him feel proud. Glad we could help you out, Chad.
