Not Stock For Much Longer
Marci Grell of Redding, California, has recently taken up the sport of off-roading and likes to take her brand-new '06 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 into the hills behind her house. Although her ride is stock, she plans on upgrading the suspension system very soon as well as adding brushguards and a much larger wheel-and-tire combination. She tells us this is her first four-wheel-drive vehicle, and she is completely addicted. She made it a point to let us know that she wants to see more females on the trails. We couldn't agree more, Marci.
Technical Sergeant Ronald Billing calls Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho home. He bought his '85 Toyota 4Runner in April of '06 and has spent the last few months building it into a trail machine. The truck has the 22RE engine, five-speed manual transmission, and solid front axle with a Detroit Truetrac locker. The rear is running a Lock-Rite locker and both ends are stuffed with 5.29 gears. He installed a 5-inch lift using stock-length Alcan springs in the front and 57-inch Trail-Gear springs out back. A Trail-Gear U-bolt flip kit and an All-Pro Off-Road Hy-Steer conversion with steering stabilizer keep everything above the axles. Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks are on all four corners. The tires are 34x10.5R15 Super Swamper LTBs on black Daytona 15x8 rims.
Kyle Hunt of Burlington Junction, Missouri, is the owner of this '00 5.3L Chevrolet Silverado Z71. This Chevy was given a 6-inch Pro Comp lift along with 33x12.50 Pro Comp Xterrain tires wrapped around a set of Weld Super-Single II wheels. The Z71 has a K&N air filter and a dual exhaust with a Power Programmer II to keep Kyle's right foot happy. He has also added Westin nerf bars, a tonneau cover, and will be modifying the suspension system next.
