Lovell Breaks Through in Crandon
Brad Lovell is a well-known racer when it comes to Rock Crawling and Rock Racing. However, he is still a newbie when it comes to short course racing. Lovell’s 2010 rookie season in the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AmsOil was a mixture of bad luck, rookie mistakes and a huge learning curve. That curve started to level off towards the end of the year, when Lovell finished as high as fourth in Bark River. With a lot of off-season hard work put in, his hard work was going to pay off in 2011. After leading part of the first race of the season, Lovell took that confidence into the second race at Crandon and found himself finishing with a strong second place. Pathiakis Hits the Podium at Glen Helen
Andrea Pathiakis took home third place in her short-course racing debut in the second round of the LOORS Series at Glen Helen Raceway in the Mini Stock class driving the #11 Icon Vehicle Dynamics, SDHQ and Nissan Motorsports powered Nissan truck. No stranger to off-road racing, Andrea also posted the fastest qualifying lap of the day and did a good job of mixing it up with some of the Mini Open class competitors as well. After a few hard fought laps in the lead, she felt a power loss coming from the truck even with her foot on the floor. “I knew something was wrong, the truck just wasn’t putting out the power it should”, she said. The #11 truck had blown an impressive hole in the block, but still managed to stay on the podium with a third place trophy.
