Robby Gordon And Toyo Tires Win Overall At The 15th Annual Score Laughlin Desert Challenge
Robby Gordon piloted his Monster Energy/Toyo Tires Chevrolet Silverado trophy truck to an overall win during the 15th Annual SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge in Laughlin, Nevada. Just back from his third overall finish at the Dakar rally which was less than a week prior, Gordon switched from his Monster Energy/Toyo Tires Hummer H3 rally racer to his trophy truck shod with 37X13.50R17 Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires to win at Laughlin by more than four minutes.

John Williams Named New Off-Road Operations Manager At Miller Motorsports Park
Williams, a native of Logan, Utah, is the proprietor of Mt. Logan Off-Road and a longtime competitor in competition rock crawling. He also has extensive experience in building off-road vehicles, product design and development, and staging corporate off-road events and training seminars. In his new position, Williams will oversee the management of the new Miller Motorsports Park Off-Road Course, including development of off-road driving schools and corporate-outing programs as well as recruiting sponsors and promotional partners.
The Off-Road Course at Miller Motorsports Park is a seven-acre facility that contains a variety of challenging terrain for off-road enthusiasts. The course includes a variety of surfaces and runs the gamut of difficulty from beginner to very experienced. Plans are for the course to be open for vehicle testing and fun rides, as well as for corporate ride-along and behind-the-wheel outings. In addition, an off-road driving school is also planned that will be a part of the existing Miller Performance Training Center. BFGoodrich Tires Captures Ninth Dakar Victory
Competing with new BFGood-rich All-Terrain tires, Volkswagen Race Touareg driver Giniel De Villiers scored the first Dakar win of his career recently in Buenos Aires. The South African's American teammate Mark Miller followed him across the line to hand the Volkswagen team a resounding one-two finish at the first Dakar to take place in South America. For cross-country rally racing's benchmark tire brand - BFGoodrich Tires - this year's result takes its total score to nine Dakar wins.
After taking command two stages from home, Giniel de Villiers claimed the 14th and final stage of the 2009 Dakar to put the seal on his first win on the world's most punishing cross-country rally event, which was hosted for the first time in Argentina and Chile. The South African completed the distance with a lead of 8 minutes 59 seconds over his USA-based teammate Mark Miller, and 1 hour 46 minutes 15 seconds clear of another American stalwart, Robby Gordon (Hummer), who joined the Volkswagen/BFGoodrich Tires pair on the podium.
The German squad, which fielded a line-up of four race Touaregs, all competing on BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires dominated the 2009 Dakar from nearly start to finish, winning 10 of the 13 stages. The team's Carlos Sainz topped the leader board for the week but his hopes were all but lost when he crashed out on SS12.
