Inchworm's latest creation, Lefty, is the only currently available, direct bolt-in, low-geared, single transfer case setup available for the Toyota Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, or 4Runner. Lefty is a complete transfer case that replaces the stock chaindriven unit and comes built with your choice of 4:1, 4.7:1, 5:1 or 5.71:1 gearsets. The beauty of the Lefty is that it bolts up in a few hours with no driveline, floor, or crossmember modifications. It also provides additional ground clearance by clocking the transfer case to keep it tucked away from the rocks. Lefty is the simplest way to get rockcrawling gears in your Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, or 4Runner. Lefty is also compatible with Inchworm's dual transfer-case setup and is available with other options including: heavy-duty output shafts, your choice of driveshaft flanges, twin sticks, and an electric or cable-driven speedometer. The illuminated controls offer the user crucial safety warnings and performance status information. The SX 9.5 also features an automatic-shutdown feature to prevent excessive operating temperatures and low battery voltage (with manual override). The Mile Marker SX 9.5 is powered by a heavy-duty, series-wound motor. For more information, contact: Mile Marker, (800) 886-8647, www.milemarker.com.
ARB has just redesigned its entire recovery gear product line, which includes products such as tree trunk protectors, snatch straps, and winch extension straps. These products still have all of the same great features, including the internal safety flag which shows bright-red tape through the fibers of the straps to let the user know that the strap is wearing out, along with some great new benefits.
Traditionally, all ARB straps were a matching blue color and while this was great for illustrating that the straps were a set, it was not particularly practical for three different straps with three different functions all to look the same when searching for one in the depths of a gear bag during a serious recovery situation. To remedy this situation, each of the three different types of straps are now individually colored for easy identification, and ARB has used a new high-visibility color scheme to encourage safer vehicle recovery operations. Reinforced seam sleeves offer extra durability, and the redesigned eyes allow shackles to be fitted with ease. To properly accommodate various vehicle weights, a variety of differently rated versions of each of the three recovery straps will be available, allowing the correctly rated strap to be matched to the vehicle weight. If you've ever wondered how fabrication shops make all those precision cuts to create bumpers, suspension products, and more, typically it's done with a plasma cutter. Hobart Welders has just released a new plasma cutter: the AirForce 250ci. Featuring a built-in air compressor and lightweight inverter technology, the unit offers powerful cutting and weighs just 27 pounds - half the weight of the previous model. The AirForce 250ci is powered by standard 115-vac household current, and it can cut steel up to 1/4 inch thick. The unit allows cutting with an arc up to 3/16 inch long, which is three times longer than some competitive units. The AirForce comes ready to use with a 16.5-foot, ergonomic HP-25 torch designed for increased comfort, more efficient postflow air cooling, and economical replacement tips.
