Jared Pugh, owner of Rock & Roll Offroad, needed a truck to serve multiple duties for his shop and his racing and dirt pursuits. He chose a ’12 Dodge 2500 Ram 4WD as his base. The big diesel rig serves as his daily driver around the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolis. However, it was designed to also be a chase truck for the shop’s #53 trophy truck, and it serves as a prerunner before their racer hits the course.
As it sat, the new Ram was nicely appointed with a solid Cummins powerplant, a fairly stout drivetrain, and a super comfortable interior that could seat five. Jared and his crew set to work lifting the truck and outfitting it with a high-performance Carli suspension. The engine received a few mild mods, and the truck was soon set for its multifaceted life.
We met up with Jared at Hidden Falls Adventure Park near Marble Falls, Texas. We hit the dirt there and ran the truck across some of their central Texas terrain. Check out the details on this truck. You’ll probably spot it chasing at the Best in the Desert races this coming season, and he’s already outfitted an Icom race radio in preparation.
