It's not often than many of us find the limits of our 4WD truck. We may think we're taking the truck to the ends of its limits, but most of the time the driver fails before the truck does. Ouch! Did that statement injure your pride?! Then suck it up and send us some pics of your broken junk. We've shown what we can certainly break ourselves; let's see what you can do, too! Wayne Sayetsitty of Phoenix, Arizona, is another one of those individuals who didn't find his truck's push point until it was too late, taking his '96 Chevy Silverado to an almost untimely death. Instead of letting the truck rot, he rebuilt it to a new height of capability.

  • The new 10-Bolt front axle has been loaded up with Moser axles, 4.88 gears and an ARB air locker to match the rear. It's easy to tell the link mounting points were made with heavy weight abuse in mind. The welds are near perfect and extra gussets have been added where necessary. A new custom crossover steering system was built to accommodate the new design and articulation.

  • The GM Vortec V-8 provides plenty of fun on its own, but who can say no to a little more juice? The additions of a Procharger Supercharger and Intercooler have launched the truck to just over 400 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque.

  • The goal of creating a low-budget, well-built, solid-axle-swap truck was achieved. We threw hills, rocks and mud at the truck during our shoot and it kept asking for more.

  • The new five-link front end is a custom-built, one-off design Randy fabricated for this truck. Along with increased traction capabilities, Wayne wanted the truck to handle high-speed, off-road fun as well. Randy's background includes building numerous prerunners and race vehicles that assured Wayne his truck was in good hands. The 4L60E transmission has been mated to a NP241 transfer case.

  • Wayne loves the classic lines of his '96 so keeping the body as stock as possible was a must. With new increased suspension height, he swapped his previous 31-inch tires for a set of LT325/80R16 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires on Mickey Thompson wheels.
