How's this for a low-profile, form-follows-function bedcage? Jeff needed a way to secure his dirt bike in the bed, and this arrangement leaves plenty of room to haul a dirt bike, or almost anything else..... | .....As an added bonus, cinching... .....As an added bonus, cinching a dirt bike up against the tubing does not damage the front of the bed. Tie a dirt bike up against the front of an un-caged bed and you'll quickly see the difference. |
 | Low-profile bedcage and bump... Low-profile bedcage and bump stop mounts tie in close to the frame. A few dimple-die holes add strength and a touch of class. | DMZ's clevis and tie rods... DMZ's clevis and tie rods strengthen Jeff's steering system. |
Since there's no CV axle to... Since there's no CV axle to worry about on a 2wd, these trucks can use a lift knuckle for extra ground clearance in the two-track. DMZ used an Allied Suspensions lift knuckle in conjunction with a Total Chaos 3.5-inch wider per side long-travel kit. The Allied design was since purchased by Camburg and is now available from them. Total Chaos also offers a lift knuckle that can be used with a long-travel kit or by itself with stock control arms and suspension. | Fox coilover and bypass shocks... Fox coilover and bypass shocks create a complete speed-and-position-sensitive damping system for the front suspension. Coilover shocks can be used alone, but they do not match the control and tuning ability brought to the table by the addition of a bypass shock. | Jeff's Tacoma breathes through... Jeff's Tacoma breathes through a K&N filter and is fired with the help of a yellow-top Optima battery. You can't see the JBA headers attached to the 4.0 V-6, but they're there. |
You can get a TRD version... You can get a TRD version at any Toyota dealer, but there's only one place to get your Tacoma DMZ'd. | It's hard to find better-fitting... It's hard to find better-fitting fiberglass than that offered by Glassworks Unlimited. | |
