During a recent trip to the Oceano Sand Dunes, we spotted a pair of dune-eating machines built by Eyeball Fabrication. A high-flying purple Eliminator four-seater and a bright orange Stealth two-seater both tore up the dirt. Watching from afar didn't last very long; we had to come in for a closer inspection. Up close, both cars were beautifully crafted and when we were offered a ride, do you think we put up a fight? Cars like these are built for two things: speed and more speed. King Shocks will create your shock combination in a slew of colors to match your ride. Don chose purple as the main color for his car and King whipped up a matching set of coilovers and bypass shocks. With all of that shock power in place the rear suspension travel is measured at 22 inches. Plenty for launching off dune lips and carving through bowl after bowl. | Inside the cabin, we sat down... Inside the cabin, we sat down in a full complement of PRP Race Seats with Crow padded five-point harness. The showoff stance of any... The showoff stance of any well-built sandcar is the front end. These giant chromoly wings push the front end 25 inches up and down. King Shocks also matched the front coilovers and bypass shocks with the rear. Seven Hella HID lamps are mounted up front, pouring light over the terrain. Driving in dunes at night is very dangerous. We have seen many accidents caused by faulty or poor lighting. HID lamps are crucial in the dunes, especially when your vehicle is capable of high speeds and likes to shoot 20 feet in the air. People need to see you coming. | A Howe steering box and pump... A Howe steering box and pump are keeping the Phantom car on track. Pro Am provided the hubs at all four corners along with the entire disc brake system. Pro Am equipment is heavy duty and also found on many Trophy Trucks running around Baja. Connected to the engine is a Mendeola S4D transmission, PWR radiator and a 15-gallon fuel cell. |
The Eyeball two-seater Stealth... The Eyeball two-seater Stealth car is basically a mini version of the Eliminator. The car is just as beautifully crafted, just holds two less people.
