Off-roading tales both tall and true usually involve a mishap, misadventure, or a missed turn on the trail. It's good to have something to laugh about and look back on, usually with the thought, "Man, was that a stupid move, or what?"
Superlift owns and operates its very own OHV park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Open public land is scarce east of the Rockies, so the folks at Superlift decided that they not only would provide premium off-road suspension systems, they would also provide a place to use them. The park's 1,250 acres are interlaced with trails that cater to off-road veterans, rookies, and everyone in between. Each trail is marked as to its difficulty for different types of vehicles (ATV, Jeep, fullsize truck, etc.) so drivers know what to expect before heading down a trail. The description for the toughest trails - Level 5 - includes, "Bring a camera and a clean change of underwear."
Even the best-built trucks and most experienced drivers get in over their collective heads. Stupid moves happen, and that's where Superlift's Power Wagon comes in. This '05 has seen about 4,000 total miles to date, with a whopping 3 out of every 4 miles spent off-road, and it has a growing collection of scratches and dents to prove it. To be sure, this truck is fun to play in, but its real purpose is to protect and recover those who push their personal envelopes just a bit too far at the Superlift OHV park. Front and rear Warn winches mean recovery is possible from almost any vantage point. Cracked metal can be fused back together on the trail thanks to a Premier Power Welder under the hood. A Kilby Enterprises onboard air system rides along to reinflate tires. Just enough auxiliary fuel is on hand to let those with empty tanks make it back to basecamp. If you're stuck, broken, or lost, this is one black-and-white you'll be glad to see in the dirt.
