Our Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI has continued to be the finest 4x4 quad we've ever ridden. The fuel injection alone is a major upgrade. The four-stroke single runs great at any altitude and starts and idles well no matter how cold it is. Not having to deal with a choke and jetting is a major leap forward. The power steering has proven to be a major improvement too. Gone is bumpsteer when hitting obstacles and we're able to steer the Grizzly easily, even when we're in 4-Lo and have the front differential locked. As you can tell, we're having fun with our Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI.
We added a Warn 3.0ci winch to our Grizzly, so we can easily run a snowplow. A winch comes in handy in any number of situations off-road, from pulling logs out of the way to pulling us out of a stuck. Yamaha offers a Warn 2500 winch for the Grizzly, but we decided on a larger Warn 3,000-pound winch. Bigger is better, right? Better, yes, but we had to clearance one of the bosses on the winch so it would fit. The Warn came with a Grizzly mounting kit and everything needed for the installation.
We also talked to our friends at Interco Tire and procured two AT26x9.00-12 and two AT26x10.00-12 new Swamp Lite ATV tires as well as two new 12x7 and two new 12x8 Condor aluminum alloy wheels. It's obvious how well these tires work in the mud, snow, and rocks. All you have to do is see the tread design to know that. What's not obvious is how light these tough six-ply tires and wheels really are. While our Grizzly has plenty of power, those with smaller ATVs won't have o worry about turning too much mass. The Condor wheels are light, strong, and good looking.
The Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI is the best big-bore quad we've ridden. The Warn 3.0ci winch and Interco Swamp Lite tires and Condor alloy wheels make it even better. Keep reading for further reports on our adventures with the Grizzly.
