The front and rear brake systems are matching sets of AP Racing 15-inch six-piston calipers, cross-drilled and slotted, running stainless steel braided brake lines.
Moving on to the rear of the truck, we found the rear portion of the CST 8-inch kit along with more custom work performed by Outlaw Motorsports. A set of Deaver Spring leaf springs raises the truck 5.5 inches, and a set of 3-inch King triple-bypass shocks keeps the truck running smooth both on and off the road. In order to get enough room and proper travel, Ron fabricated a custom bed cage to hold his King shocks in the proper location yet still provide enough room to load a couple of dirt bikes in the bed. An aluminum battery box was also fabricated to hold dual Odyssey 1200 batteries. The entire driveline was chrome-dipped to match some of the suspension components, and the rear end was gusseted for additional strength. The Ford 9.75 rearend has been stuffed with 4.88 gears to match the front but also runs an Eaton limited-slip differential, whereas the front is open.
Checking out the body, we found a few cool accessories worth mentioning. First up are the AMP Research electronic side steps, which making getting in and out of a lifted fullsize truck so easy that we have a set installed on our Off-Road Project F-350. Ron fabricated a customer prerunner-style front bumper with 1/4-inch aluminum skidplates to help keep the front end well protected.
Bushwacker fender flares keep dirt off the sides of the truck and rock chips to a minimum. He also decided a coat of Line-X spray-on bedliner would help protect the inner wheelwells all around this Ford. The billet accessories around the ride include stylish .44 caliber door handles, gas door, and tailgate handle.
To match the black color of the truck and keep that sleeper appeal, the rear taillights were blacked out and smoked. Ron also added a 3-inch body lift for extra tire clearance. A Cervini's fiberglass ram-air hood also gives the front end an aggressive finish and allows more fresh air to flow over the engine bay. The chosen wheel-and-tire package includes 20x10 Weld Dune 6 wheels with 4-7/8-inch backspacing for clearance to run the 37x13.5R20-inch Toyo M/T tires.
