Resting just below the spares is a Fuel Safe 32-gallon fuel cell, Hella LED brake lights and amber dust light, an aluminum race jack, as well as storage containers for spare fluids. This truck does have a California license plate, but I don't think you're going to see it driving down the 405 freeway anytime soon.

1993 Ford Ranger V8 Currie Rear Axle
There are a few items you find on some of the nicer prerunners running around in the desert that will make any owner smile. One of those is a well-built Currie rearend. The guys at Currie really took care of Jason and set up his Currie C-Mac rearend to take as much abuse as he could dish out. It is stuffed with 4.56-ratio ring-and-pinion gears with a 35-spline full-spool locker. The driveshaft was supplied by Drivelines Unlimited located in Lake Forest, California. Both Currie and Drivelines Unlimited are well known for taking care of some of the top race teams in the SCORE race series. It's no wonder Jason trusted them with his ride.

1993 Ford Ranger V8 Rear Axle Detail
Climbing under the center of the truck, we first noticed that Jason is running a Ford C4 transmission that was built and installed by Transwerks in Huntington Beach, California. The transmission uses a reverse manual valve body and a billet forward drum. Transwerks also installed its cable gate shifter as well as its torque converter. Looking out the rear you can get a grasp of the Baker Motorsports four-link suspension system. We spent about 20 minutes under the Ford just tracing the 'cage work and imagining how well the truck must travel in the dirt. Everything is made with the best-quality metals and Heim joints. You can also make out the dual fuel pumps that were installed just in case one fails during a serious landing on the course.

The original 'cage has held up to its promises and Jason never considered replacing it. A few door bars have been added to the original design by Baker for safety reasons due to the level Jason is now able to take his truck.

1993 Ford Ranger V8 Dashboard
One of our favorite parts of this truck is the custom aluminum dash. The clean look and organization of the Lowrance GlobalMap 3200 GPS, Kenwood head unit, PCI Race Radios intercom system, Vortex radio, MOMO steering wheel, and assortment of Auto Meter gauges is a beautiful sight. Beard race seats and Crow five-point harnesses were installed for passenger safety and comfort, as was as a set of PCI race air pumps. All wiring was performed by Johnny Lightning. Jason also had an iPod wired into his stereo system and helmets in order to be able to listen to tunes while tearing up the dirt.

Baker constructed the lightbar so that Jason can lower it for safety when the lights are not needed, as well as to save a few miles per gallon.
