1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 - Fresh Squeezed

A One-Of-A-Kind '72 FJ40 Land Cruiser

Photography by Joel Mollis

When the paint dried and the engine and the suspension were ready to roll down the trail, the interior was the last area to be completed. Since it would be used for off-roading, William and James elected to forego carpet or vinyl floorboard coverings. Instead, they had the floorboard and the key interior areas coated with a gray and orange Durabak coating. For safety purposes, a pair of MOMO Rookie seats was installed with orange RJS cam-lock five-point racing harnesses, which attach to the 2-1/2-inch rollbar. To keep the elements at bay, a Kayline Fast-Trac soft top was installed. Other key interior appointments include a Tuffy console, a MOMO carbon-fiber race shift knob, a MOMO race steering wheel, and a Sony CD system with a 10-disc changer and controller.

After attending numerous shows and jamborees, William's FJ40 has garnered numerous awards, including Best of Show. It just goes to show what two ordinary guys can do with exceptional ideas.
