Outlaw 250 Off Road Race - MDR Air Corps

If you've seen the Dezert People video series, you've seen footage of The Wall. It's no Laughlin Leap, but it's still tricky enough to spell disaster if you hit it wrong. The Wall is tricky because it's got whoops on the approach, a short, steep takeoff face, and whoops on the landing. Land in one spot, and it's a smooth touchdown. Land 5 feet farther, and it's a nasty smackdown. Is The Wall a good spectator spot? Do you really need to ask?

Since the Outlaw 250 is run over a 43-mile loop, The Wall wasn't the only treacherous spot on the course, but it was perhaps the most significant. The 2006 MDR Outlaw 250 was the first time in three years anyone had sailed off the top of The Wall during an organized competitive event. We took our lenses to the desert anticipating some high-flying action, and we weren't disappointed at the end of the day. Check out what we found at The Wall and a few other spots along the course.
