Start Your Engines Neck And Neck

Why race? The reasons are many. Some line up to test new equipment. Others line up to settle old scores. Still others take to the starting line to show off driving skills honed miles from civilization on nameless backroads. For all these and many other reasons, off-roaders were out in force when Rialto Off-Road Raceway swung open its pit gates for the first time in 2005.

"The first race of the year is always a good one," revealed ROR's Greg Gagnon. "People are anxious to get back out there." Jen Gagnon shed further light on the success of the 2005 opener. "We ran time trials and wheel-to-wheel racing all day for the first time. People didn't have to wait until the end to see the wheel-to-wheel action."

Over the past few seasons, we've watched Rialto Off-Road Raceway grow from a small-time word-of-mouth get-together into a blueprint for high-flying, action-filled racing that's freeway-close and easy on the wallet. In short, this type of grassroots racing is on an upward spiral, and we're happy to be along for the ride.
